So many times when viewing jobs I see no smoke alarms, or battery smoke alarms with no battery in and it amazes me that such an easy fix that could potentially save a life, hasn't been carried out!

As homeowners, there's currently no requirement for you to have any form of fire detection in your home but a lot of people will have 1, maybe 2 battery powered smoke alarms. Rarely is there maintenance carried out on these alarms. 

Last year, because of lockdown and COVID and nobody actually wanting to go out and trick-or-treat, I did a spur of the moment Halloween treasure hunt in Corsham. The rules were simple, I got some Halloween themed decorated pebbles and I hid them in Corsham. If you found the rock, get in touch with your trusted electrician and trade the rock in for a jar of sweets. 

The hunt last year appeared to be quite popular and even with COVID restrictions easing, I'm doing the same again this year as something to do for the community.

As an electrician a lot of my work comes from word of mouth and it does for a lot of other trades too. Ask around for recommendations so you have a few local electricians to pick from.
