Here at Watt & Co. Electrical, we're always looking for the best solutions to problems, whether that's modern new tools to reduce mess and disruption, or products that can save time and offer new benefits.

One product that has been around some time now but hasn't quite become common enough that the majority of consumers are aware of it are wireless switches and receivers. These little gadgets provide a neat and easy way to add a second switch to an existing light, or an entirely new light and switch without all the noise and mess usually associated with chasing in cables and back boxes.

The switch itself is completely wireless and battery free, the touch of a button is enough to create a kinetic charge that throws a signal to the receiver and in turn switching the light or load on. With the switch having no electric inside of it means it can be used and kept outside or if you prefer can be portable and not fixed to a set location. Once you have the tech installed adding extra switches is as simple as pairing a mobile phone to a bluetooth device, some would even say it's faster and easier!

The receiver usually will be hidden out of eye sight, in a ceiling void, behind an access panel or an adaptable box. The receivers can be connected to your wifi so that they can run from an app, meaning you always have a switch as long as you have your mobile phone. This also means you can set things to come on together or even set schedules so they turn on or off at certain times of day. The receivers can also handle loads higher than a lamp. So if you have a socket that you want to be able to switch off remotely they can be used for that too!
