What's the difference between an integrated downlight and a 'Can and Lamp' GU10 Downlight?

Recessed downlights (sometimes called spotlights) are popular for kitchens and bathrooms lighting as they are a modern style of lighting. Recessed downlights come in 2 main different forms, you have integrated downlights and GU10 Replaceable bulb downlights. In the trade these replaceable bulb versions are know as 'can and lamps'.
But what's the difference?
Integrated downlights come as a single unit with the LED integrated and built in to the entire fitting. These types of recessed downlights are usually relatively low profile for when space is an issue but the drawback is that if the unit fails you may need to find a reliable trusted electrician that replaces light fittings to replace the entire unit.
Integrated downlights tend to offer a slightly better 'beam angle' too which means you might need less lights than if you went for the GU10 alternative.
GU10 downlights are just an empty fitting and has a replaceable bulb.
GU10 downlights don't require an electrician to replace the light as it's straight forward to replace the failed bulbs which makes them a cheaper if there was a faulty unit!
GU10 downlights tend to be a bit bulkier though which makes them less attractive for ceiling voids with limited space.
Whether you're upgrading your kitchen downlights or having new bathroom downlights installed, choosing between these 2 options depend on your priorities.
